The RN/BSN Program is a four year college based program. You may take your pre-clinical classes at any City University of New York (CUNY) school. If selected for this program, you may join a cohort program at New York College of Technology in Brooklyn (evenings and Saturdays) or Lehman College in the Bronx (daytime program), or you may choose to attend school as an individual. If you choose to attend on your own, you will meet with a program counselor and be advised as to which classes you should take.
Applications for the RN/BSN program are accepted on a continues basis. Students with prior college credits must initially have at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) to meet program qualifications. If you have never attended college and have not scored at least a 75 on the Math and Reading Regents exams in High School, you will be required to take an entrance exam. The first 2 years of the program will consist of taking liberal arts courses at CUNY. After successfully completing these courses, students will transfer to Long Island University (LIU). Students must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA as well as a minimum 2.75 in the science classes, to gain entrance into LIU. The BSN degree will come from Long Island University. A new school is being built at Kings County hospital for this program. Students will finish the last two years at the Kings County location.
All RN students are required to sign a four year work commitment with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation for receiving this scholarship. All graduates receive full pay and benefits once hired at HHC.
Please be sure to indicate which CUNY school(s) you are attending or have applied to, and include High School or GED diploma and transcript, and all college transcripts, if applicable. You must submit identification documentation, as well as, income documentation. Incomplete applications cannot be processed. Please send an e-mail to EO@nychhc.org should you have any questions or concerns.
This program is for non-HHC employees. Thank you.
